Precautions for use of ultrasonic scanner

1. Don't forget to lock the scanner

Because the scanner uses a precise optical system including optical lens, its structure is relatively fragile; In order to avoid damaging the optical components, scanners are usually equipped with special locking/unlocking mechanisms. Before moving the scanner, the optical components should be locked first, but special attention should be paid to the fact that before using the scanner again, the locking must be first released, otherwise, it is likely to cause damage to the transmission mechanism of the scanner due to temporary negligence!

2. Do not use organic solvents to clean the scanner to prevent damage to the scanner housing and optical elements.

3. Don't let the scanner work in dusty environment.

Be sure to keep the scanner glass clean and undamaged, because it directly affects the scanning accuracy and recognition rate of the scanner; If there is dust on it, it is better to use the leather tiger that we usually dust the camera lens.

4. Do not plug the scanner with power.

When installing scanners, especially those with EPP parallel ports, in order to prevent burning the motherboard, the computer must be turned off before plugging in.

5. Do not ignore scanner driver updates.

Many users usually only pay attention to upgrading the drivers of devices such as graphics cards, but often ignore upgrading the drivers of scanners. The drivers directly affect the performance of scanners and involve the compatibility of various software and hardware systems. In order to make scanners work better, they should often download updated drivers from the manufacturer's website.

6. Don't use too high resolution.

When working with a scanner, many users set the resolution of the scanner very high, hoping to improve the recognition rate. In fact, when scanning general documents, it is enough to select a resolution of about 300DPI. Too high resolution may reduce the recognition rate. This is because too high resolution will scan the details of the printed text more carefully, and it is easier to identify the defects and defects of the printed text, resulting in a decline in the recognition rate.

7. Do not turn off the system virtual memory.

If you scan an image in a computer with a low memory configuration, the system memory is often insufficient. At this time, you can use the remaining space on the hard disk as virtual memory to complete the scanning work, but when the virtual memory is disabled, the scanner cannot continue to work.

8. Do not set the compression ratio too low.

After completing the image scanning task with a scanner, we often need to select an appropriate image saving format to save the file. When selecting JPEG format, some users always think that the smaller the compression ratio is, the more convenient it is to save and transmit, but if the setting is too small, the image information will be seriously lost.

9. So the scanner needs to consume additional power to find the ideal scanning entry point in the process of work. Even so, it is difficult to guarantee the ideal vertical resolution of the scanner.

10. Do not switch the scanner frequently.

Some scanners have high requirements. Before each use, make sure that the scanner is powered on before the computer is turned on. In this case, the direct consequence of frequent switch on and off of the scanner is to start the computer frequently, and frequent switch on and off is also extremely detrimental to the scanner itself.
