Principles and classification of medical ultrasound scanners
Time:2023-03-28 10:16:50 Number of hits:191

Medical ultrasound scanners are non invasive medical imaging devices that generate images using high-frequency ultrasound. It is widely used in clinical diagnosis and treatment, and can help doctors quickly and accurately detect and diagnose various diseases.

The principle of medical ultrasound scanners is based on the characteristics of sound waves propagating through substances. Sound waves are mechanical waves that can travel through a medium. When sound waves encounter media with different densities, they are reflected, refracted, or scattered. These reflected and scattered sound waves can be captured by the receiver and converted into electrical signals. Ultrasonic scanners generate images by emitting high-frequency sound waves into the interior of the human body and receiving reflected sound waves. Due to the different propagation speeds and attenuation rates of sound waves in different tissues, sound waves will be reflected and scattered as they pass through the tissues. Therefore, the location and shape of different tissues can be determined based on the reflected and scattered sound waves, thereby generating images.

Classification According to the application fields and functions of ultrasonic scanners, they can be divided into the following categories:

B-ultrasound scanner B-ultrasound scanner is the most common type of ultrasound scanner. It can emit ultrasonic waves into the interior of the human body through a probe and receive reflected sound waves to generate images. Because B-ultrasound scanners do not require the use of radioactive materials and are relatively inexpensive, they are widely used in obstetrics, gynecology, cardiovascular, digestive, and other fields.

Color Doppler ultrasound scanner Color Doppler ultrasound scanner can measure blood flow velocity and direction, and use colors to represent blood flow at different speeds on the image. It can help doctors diagnose diseases such as heart disease and arteriosclerosis.

Endoscopic ultrasound scanner Endoscopic ultrasound scanner can be inserted into the human body to directly observe organs and tissues. It is commonly used in the fields of gastrointestinal tract, urinary system, and gynecology, and can effectively detect and treat diseases.

Ultrasound contrast agent scanner Ultrasound contrast agent scanner is a special type of ultrasound scanner that can inject ultrasound contrast agent into the human body and generate images by detecting reflected signals. It is commonly used for the examination and treatment of organs such as the liver, pancreas, and breast.

Summary: Medical ultrasound scanner is a non-invasive imaging device that can quickly and accurately detect and diagnose various diseases using the characteristics of acoustic wave propagation in materials. According to different application fields and functions, they can be divided into several categories, such as B-ultrasound scanners, color Doppler ultrasound scanners, endoscopic ultrasound scanners, and ultrasound contrast agent scanners.
